Part One:
Saturday, September 19th
Basic Marine Meteorology
1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Prerequisites: None
Cost: Part One - $85.00 / or $170.00 for Parts One and Two (includes complementary ticket to the Newport International Boat Show)

- The atmosphere and how weather works
- Cloud identification and what it means to a mariner
- Pressure and wind concepts
- Global pressure and wind patterns
Part Two:
Sunday, September 20th
Basic Marine Meteorology
8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Prerequisites: Part One or permission from the Instructor
Cost $85.00 (includes a complimentary ticket to the Boat Show for those who skipped Part One)

- Surface Weather - Synoptic scale and lows and highs (including troughs and ridges
- Surface Weather- Interpretation of the marine surface charts from the Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) and Tropical Prediction Center
- Gulf Stream weather issues
- Brief introduction to Tropical Cyclones and the 1-2-3 rule for avoidance
