Confident Captain / At the Helm Training Program

Take your Newport International Boat Show Experience to the Next Level

Nothing beats on the water, hands-on training to improve your boat handling skills or to learn new ones. The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) has teamed up with Confident Captain / Ocean Pros to bring you a range of underway course offerings and new shore-based instruction that will make you a better, safer and more confident boater!

Presenting Confident Captain's “AT THE HELM” Training Program

At The Helm by Confident Captain offers innovative training for boaters of all experience levels. Professional USCG-licensed and U.S. Powerboating certified instructors will lead you through engaging lessons and fun boating strategies to help improve your confidence and ability. You will never feel pressured to buy a boat because Confident Captain instructors are professional captains, not boat salesmen. “At The Helm” is open to all show attendees and runs all four days of the show. Choose a powerboat or sailboat for your learning experience. You’ll be teamed up with a captain who’s committed to making boating fun, exciting and most importantly, safe.

About Confident Captain: Captain Kent Dresser, President and Founder of Confident Captain / Ocean Pros, began “At The Helm” more than a decade ago when he noticed too many boats sitting at the docks and not enough owners out on the water. Since then, “At The Helm” has helped hundreds of people learn the skills to handle their boats like the pros.

Confident Captain / At The Helm gives you V.I.P status at the 2016 Newport International Boat Show!
